Comics by Design are the comics - for designers

Gather round, one and all. I stand before you today with a grand announcement. Come on, folks. No need for pushing. This is the Internet. There’s room for everyone.

Ahem. Ladies and gentlemen, I’m proud to introduce the newest member of Spectorbrain: Comics by Design.

[wait for applause]

In this frequent feature, I will take seemingly innocent comics and transform them into humorous vehicles of the web design world. I will diligently poke and prod, tweak and torture, manipulate and maim the funnies with delicate precision. Why, you may ask? The reason is simple - to hopefully give you a moment of laughter and another excuse to avoid work.

And to keep everything on the up and up, I will be citing the original comic source with every “tribute” I do. These artists are the real geniuses of the funnies and it would do them a great disservice if I didn’t give credit where credit is due.

So without further ado (and if you didn’t skip to the comic already), I give you the first of many Comics by Design. I hope you enjoy it.
